UNFOLD is currently a technical preview, not a public production service. You can play without providing an account, name, email or birthday.
What is processed
Temporary random room identifiers, hashed access tokens, pack choice, question index and room connection state are held only in server memory. They expire after 30 minutes of inactivity (and no later than 2 hours after creation). No answers to conversation questions are collected. If you allow browser location access when viewing experiences, your device shares its location with this application, which rounds coordinates to about 1 km before consulting OpenStreetMap Nominatim to suggest a city. Neither your precise coordinates nor the reverse lookup result are stored in a player profile. The final yes/no choices are retained only in volatile session memory until both players have answered, then immediately discarded in favor of a temporary aggregate result (continue, other or neutral).
Access to the service technically exposes your IP address to the server. Temporary abuse-prevention counters are held in memory for roughly 60 seconds. Configure your reverse proxy to prevent recording access tokens or private invitation URLs. If a trusted local geo reverse proxy is configured, its approximate suggestion may be used, but you can change or ignore it. If you decline location permission, you can select a city manually. OpenStreetMap Nominatim receives only rounded approximate coordinates for this optional location lookup. Geographic selections are not saved in user profiles.
Sponsored experiences
Only general collection themes and optional location fields are used for contextual suggestions. Neither individual final decision nor any question answer is sent to advertisers. The generic session outcome is used only within the app to choose a broad family of suggestions. No third-party pixels or Matomo trackers are enabled in this beta. Outbound sponsored links are explicitly labeled.
Storage
The optional 18+ acknowledgment is saved in your browser session storage and disappears when the tab session ends. A temporary room credential is also kept in session storage to support connection recovery. No persistent advertising identifier is created.
For launch
The owner must publish full jurisdiction-appropriate terms and contact details before opening UNFOLD to the public. Age self-declaration alone is not strong age verification. Local laws and age-assurance rules must be evaluated before offering adult-oriented products or content.
